Humbrol colours:

Trousers: 29 Dark earth as a base. Battledress was much more brown than green.

Denison smock background: Not too picky, a light tan, mixed with a little light green if you like.

Green cammo, Humbrol no 30 is pretty good

Brown cammo, 113, or tone it down with 29 or 170 if that looks too red for your taste.

webbing: 93 os ok, but 93+72 is a bit better, not quite so yellow.

Well, it's a shame you won't get a chance to meet Ron. It's really fortunate to have some one like him around to bounce questions off of now and again. Actually, he sometimes makes the trip to Calgary for the Rockey Mountain Model Club annual show and contest every May. That is a top notch show you have right in your back yard. Thank you very much. i'm in calgary, so no IPMS for me. nice to see that they used the same clothing, i was worried that they wouldn't fit into my dio. i didn't think very many people would figure out where i lived, but you did, maby i will change it back to calgary as to not get confused as being from edmonton lol j/k

According "The Canadian Soldier; From D-Day to VE-Day" (by Jean Bouchery, published by Historie & Collections in Paris) British and Canadian paras wore the same battledress trousers as their infantry cousins. So you'll need that can of Khaki paint. The Dennison camo smock looks to be patches of a reddish brown and medium green on a light O.D. green background. Webbing equipment is the same light yellow-green colour as the infantry. Your best bets would be Humbrol enamels, and/or Vallejo acrylics, which are available in any number of fine hobby stores in Edmonton or Calgary (if I read your location correctly). If you're from Edmonton, I'd like to invite you to the meeting of IPMS Edmonton, and you can ask Ron Volstad (he did the box art and design work) yourself, as he is a member and faithful attendee of the meetings.
