MPC X-wing and A-wing, Custom paint schemes
Posted by Spark84 on Saturday, June 30, 2012 10:40 PM

All,

As promised, here's a link to the images on photo bucket of the A-wing and X-wing i did. I also finished building a photo box, which i used to take these pictures. for some reason they turned out very dim, with a brownish hue. I'm wondering if its because the sheet i used over the lights is off white and not pure white... i will try again with a pure white sheet and see.

In the midst of taking pictures i managed to break the x-wing's stand and trap the tip of the stand in the hole on the bottom... if anyone has built one of these kits you know the provided stands break pretty easy. i knew this and still broke it... i think ill be building a stand using my own materials to replace this one.

anyway, hope you guys like them.

They look really good.  I like the weathering...especially the chipping on the A-wing.

Yes, the lighting is quite off so it's hard to determine the actual color schemes. For instance, is the A-Wing orange or red?

They both look well done; I just got a replacement A-Wing canopy and can now finish a kit that's been unbuilt for years.

I agree on the lighting, i'm going to try a different sheet and see if that helps.

the paint scheme on the A-wing is Orange. I used the same colors on the B-wing i did, you can see the images of that on photobucket as well.

Nicely done! I like the originality in your paint schemes. I really like the checkerboard on both the X & Y Wings.

I'm really digging the A-Wing.One thing I like about SW stuff is you can be more creative with it.
