I humbly submit for your comments...

I'm most proud of how the base turned out.

Thanks for looking.

Is this a Pegasus kit? This is very well done. Excellent job!  :)

Good job.  This has always been one of my favorite ships since I saw the movie in the theaters.

What did you use for paint, and did you consider lighting it?

Great job. I built that one last year. There is a lighting kit available for it  but I chose not to go that route. And yes, the base looks great. I remember  how much that movie scared the heck out me when I was a kid. Copper color looks great.! Gene Barry I believe, but not sure, hated the remake

Great job on the machine and the base is looking good too. I have one that's done other than I'm planning a dio for it, that's if I ever get done with a few other builds that I'm involved in.

Fantastic work and I love the base too!

I've seen some versions that were already pre-plated with the bronze colour but it seems to me cleaning the kit up you'd have to touch the thing up after finishing.

Nice job on your machine.

Still one of my most favorite movies. It scared me so much as a kid, I watched it from behind the couch.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

I knew this was going to be a fun kit to put together. There was nothing to the assembly.

This kit gave me an opportunity to work on puttying seams and covering a wide area with an airbrush.

I'm surprised the base turned out the way it did. I was thinking “How would Bob Ross paint clouds?” and bada bing! Clouds!

ikar, I used Testors enamel #1151 copper metallic. I didn’t concider lighting up the model. That might be a cool thing to do though.

Archangel Shooter, A War of the Worlds dio would be fun to do. Think of the carnage…

I think I might pick up another kit to do a reflective copper finish and perhaps lights.

A smooth metal finish is always difficult for me. You did a great job. I have also built this model and I added the VooDoo FX light kit.

@ tankerbuilder:

To "Ross" the clouds I took my thinnest brush and got enough paint on it to dry brush. I then crushed the bristles against the surface and twirled the brush.

I kept playing in this fashion until I got what I thought looked like clouds.

This is a rare model indeed. The base is more detailed than the model it is supporting! Great Job On Both!

I had to laugh, was the Ross a reference to the public tv guy who did oil painting ?

Anyone known of a paint that would give the mirror like copper finish, like the pre-built version? I used a copper metallic finish but its no where near shiny and reflective. I  know Alclad does metallic finishes but theirs are all aluminum, steel, silver, etc.

its a nice build but these WOTW designs really freak me out and always have - I don't know why but that probing triffid like tentacle just doesn't make me feel comfortable

I always liked the look of the Dean Brothers War Machine... always thought it would eb extremely cool to build one:

At one of our contests there was a diorama showing a war machine advancing and it played the movie sound effects.

I used to have a model of the war machine from Jeff Wayne's musical version of War of the Worlds.  Wish I still did.

Yeah so, I decided just for giggles to enter the War Machine in my club hosted model contest. It was my first contest entry and I got a Bronze medal for my effort!

Who'd have thunk it?
