Rarity question
Posted by Jobi Wan Kenobi on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 12:08 PM

Hello:

I have the following model, which I'm considering selling:

http://www.findmodelkit.com/content/back-future-part-iii-de-lorean-railroad-driver

I can't find any sign of this hardly even existing, except for the above link and a YouTube review (http://www.findmodelkit.com/content/back-future-part-iii-de-lorean-railroad-driver).  I've searched on Ebay as well, and can't find it in either Active or Completed items.

So, not wanting to falsely advertise...any thoughts on whether it is legit to call this item "Extremely Rare" ?

Thanks in advance!!

The kit advertised on the box art with the 1950s white wall tires also includes the railroad wheels and track. It's more rare than the base kit with the tilting wheels, because that version was also released by AMT/Ertl, but it is not particularly hard to find.

Now the super detail one with the photo etched parts is more rare, or more in demand because of the detail parts.

I believe each version was a 2 in one kit with the first movie kit being able to be made into the tilt wheel kit or regular 1980s version. Then the III movie one was railroad or white walls.
