Anyone try the Bandai Boosted X-Wing?

Not the boosted Last Jedi kit, which I have unbuilt, but I have tackled the original Bandai Poe's and Resistance X-Wings. The plastic is the same in all the kits, but for color, and the few extra bits in the boosted kit. I found it to be one of the more challenging Bandai kits, as the multi colored parts did not fit all that well, especially in making up the fuselage. I understand why it was that way to fit in with the press together/no painting line of kits, but it really made things more complicated than it had to be because of it. A decent model can made out of it, but it does not 'fall together' like the Revell kits, or some of the Bandai ones, and I needed some filling and sanding to get mine together. Not beyond the abilities of an average modeler, but I'm not too sure a beginner or younger child would be happy with these.

Thank you Mike. My son thought the two Revell lights and sounds kits were too easy and the bigger Revell one "didn't come with Poe". This one has plenty, but I thought it might be too tough for him (13 yr old).

I can understand that...I supposedly know what I am doing and have not been in a hurry to touch the Boosted kit in the couple months I've had it. Even some Gamestop stores had the Bandai kit as far back as September. 

I know you said your son felt it was too easy, but for anyone else, Revell has apparently rejiggered the original small Poe's X-Wing into a Last Jedi Boosted version.

Let's hope the film at least is fun. The Bandai T-70 X-Wings are buildable, but 'fun' would not be on my list of tags for them....

I thought the large Revell Poe X-Wing was a nice kit. I wish it had come in the plain version in gray and with decals and a pilot. I also wish they would do a set scale and not the box scale. Fine Molds and now Bandai have done a good job with the constant "modeler's scales" of 1/144, 1/72 and 1/48.

Of course, the capital ships aren't included in this.

Certainly points to Bandai (and Fine Molds before them) for producing their Star Wars kits in consistent, hobby standard scales. Something Revellogram seems to have never learned over the years. Who would have thunk it, that hobbyists like their sci-fi models in scale with each other as much as possible, and in common with the rest of the hobby??? Too bad Dragon's proposed 1/35 Star Wars stuff seems to have crashed and burned, along with their interest in plastic models in general.
