Greg, I tossed everything so I don't know the scale. I suggested on another thread that the scale is 1/500,000, the same a VFR sectional chart. Just a W.A.G. on my part.

That is cool. Like already mentioned it would be fun to get one. I wish more of these small scale models were available to build.

Anyway, nice work on it.

The smallest surviving models I have are these 1.75" high mechs from "Macross":

I built them with the intention of casting copies for our Batteldroids gaming sessions (yes George Lucas, BATTLEDROIDS not Mechwarrior, so suck it you money grubbing phony Jedi).  But time passed, we went to college and on to jobs, and so the masters ended up being built.  I was proud of them back in the day, but I noticed now there are gaming minis that are pretty much the same size, but with much more detail and decals.

Yes, over 30 years ago, when my eyes were sharper and my fingers more dextrous.

I have the same kit of the Reliant.  I picked it up at Modelpalooza too.  The packaging is intact but I can't find anything about its scale.  Somehow I don't see myself building this.  I have built a small scale Klingon bird of prey.  I should have entered it in the contest.

This came as a freebee with another Star Trek kit I bought at Modelpalooza this past weekend. The finished model measures 4" x 2.25". Cute little thing.

Game Science did a series of Star Trek wargaming kits way back when. I remember buying a handful of them. Then I used one of the gaming miniatures to convert an AMT kit (only big Enterprise back in the day) into one of the single engine destroyers see in this link.

This model doesn’t quite qualify as an “entry” in this discussion because it’s not yet complete and may never be!

I’m attempting to make a minuscule UH-34 helicopter like the one that evacuated me to the hospital ship U.S.S. Repose after I was wounded in Vietnam. The old Revell model of S.S. Hope that I'm building as Repose came with a tiny helicopter that was more a Disney version of a generic helicopter than the real deal. It was also hopelessly out of scale, about 2/3 of what it should have been. I’ve mostly completed the helicopter's fuselage and have started on the main rotor. Here’s what it looks like now (that's a Canadian dime, about the same size as an American dime — 1.8 cm/0.7" in diameter.

I have serious doubts that I can add a tail rotor, landing gear, and wheels, not to mention details like windows, grill over the engine, and decals. But I’m going to try! Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Do you have the capability to make your own decals?  In the old days windows, grills, vents and things like that would be provided in the old solid wood kits.I can't fdo it but maybe you can or know somebody, or somebody here who might be willing to do it for you.  You will have to provide sizes and dimension for the curved areas.

Or, maybe get a black or silver decal sheet and cut your own.  You may have to come uf with a way to slice the engine grill if its just a series of metal strips.

Rob: I don't remember the Game Science stuff but I did play the old FASA Trek wargame (I'd heard of Star Fleet Battles but wasn't into it) and the pewter ships in there. I kick myself- wish I'd bought some back then. I do it today but they're selling for insane prices on Ebay now. I do see some 3D printed ships out there, hopefully if I wait I'll still be able to get that fleet I always wanted.

I had a few of the Star Trek ships, and they might be laying around here someplace, or not, but I still have the Klingon Bird of Prey in a plastic box.

Ihever plated that game but got into Battletech and Mechwarrior.  I have a bunch of figures for that one all painted up and decaled, for the most part.
