Polar Lights 1/350 Enterprise Refit build

Stardate -316265.75  Big Smile [:D]  Couldn't resist that.

Construction is finally underway for my PL Enterprise Refit. Since my knowledge of electronics is nil, I've decided to concentrate on building the model without lighting. Currently, I'm concentrating on building the saucer and the hanger bay. Overall, the fit of the pieces are excellent with only minor seams to be filled later with gap filling superglue around the edges of the bridge superstructure atop the upper saucer. Also, I will be sending for a set of paint templates to deal with the dreaded aztec panels. As work progresses, I will try to post photos.

SJ.. I dont know why you havnt had a responce from anyone, but welcome to the boards.. I guess so many of them have been built in the last 2 years, the excitement has wained a little.. I got the secondary hull done on mine a year ago, and the rest of it has sat waiting to be finished since.. If done right it can be very time consuming and tiring.. Just dont give up on it, and I am sure you will do a fine job! As for not lighting it, then there is no rule that says they need to be.. Of all the models that I have put lights in, they are fun and cool at first, but once they start collecting dust, then the lights dont seem to come on other than when someone makes notice of them.. Look forward to seeing more as you go..

That kit is a real beaut, not sure why you haven't been welcomed yet but the popularity of this kit lateley has been tireing . but the funny thing is, is that it's allways the same people building them.
I am a man, But I can change. If I have to....I guess...

Dont worry.. Even when you start this project, it certainly doesnt mean that you will finish it quickly.. I got as far as the secondary hull last summer, and thats as far as it went before I did my azteced 22" TOS Enterprise & about 10 other projects.. It has been packed up and hasnt been touched since then.. It really is a nice kit that needs alot of love and time..
