Now that's some cool news. I don't really have the room for an AT-AT but I'd love a few 1/35th Republic commandos or Stormtroopers.

Real G

Hey guys, Dragon has announced a Star Wars license, and have promised 1/35 scale stuff like the the Snowspeeder and AT-AT (!!!).  I think figures would be a given coming from DML and all that.  Darn it, but that would lead to humongous dioramas!  Just sayin'.  Cool

Now that does give us hope. But a 1/35th AT-AT. Thats over 2 foot tall.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

The Finemolds 1/72 Millennium Falcon has the New Hope crew and a couple of Storm Troopers. It's now in a Revell box, but it's the same kit.

The sitting crew members have there hands in their laps. That's no way to pilot a Corellion Freighter! The standing versions look better.

Has anyone ever thought of trying to convet WW2 German Officers into Imperial Officers?  Uniforms are pretty similar I don't think it would be too hard to convert them.  Maybe use Japanese Army Caps instead of the German ones.  I bough some Clone and Battledroid figues years ago when Revenge of the Sith came out they were toys but they looked close to 1/35 probably closer to 1/32 was thinking of putting them with the Battle Droid Tank kit.

So how do we get someone to produce 1/35 scale figures?  Or is it being done?  I'd love to have the storm troopers and others

Ok maybe 1/350 is a bit large, didn't think that one out - maybe 1/700 is a more manageable scale.  It would be great if manufacturers would do scales and accessories like they do with 1/35 scale armor - and now they see the market for 1/48 stuff - let's see the market open up for sci-fi now!

Some guy built a scratchbuilt Star Destroyer about 10-12 feet / 3-4 meters long that took up his whole garage. It was in FSM about 20 years or so ago, wish I knew which issue!

1/350 scale Star Destroyer sounds awesome! Except I think it is supposed to be over a kilometre long which would put it over 3 metres in length.....

Yeah the quality of the figures did vary, some were pretty nice and some were pretty darn awful. The Grenadier figures for the West End Games SW RPG were a very uneven line. The later Wizards figures after they took over were nice figures, but they only produced a handful so I expect they'd be very hard to find now. I'm thinking Wizards did a later cheap plastic pre-painted line but I'm not sure.

In any case both lines were before the new movies so no Clone Troopers or Trade Federation droids. I'm sure such a line would sell like hotcakes, not sure why no one produces them, good gosh they slap the Star Wars name on everything else.

I think I'll see if I can find my figures and post some photos, I not sure where they are now though.

I remember some of the wargaming figures, but they were kind of squatty and really soft on the detail - I would love to do a battle scene of the clone wars with stormtroopers figthing of droves of battle droids.  Be great if manufactuers started looking at doing some 1/72, 1/48 or even 1/35 clone wars vehicles, they would sell out for sure

West End Games used to do a pretty extensive line of 28mm Star Wars gaming figures which is pretty darn close to 1/48th. They've been out of production for over a decade now and sell for some pretty insane prices. Seems like something that should be reissued or someone else could do a line.

I was thinking Wizards did a line for their RPG but I don't see them listed anywhere now.

I totally agree--right now, the only way to get figures for 1/72 scale is the two stormies and Rebel pilot with R2 unit from the Finemolds TIE Fighter and X-wing kits, respectfully.

So here is our chance again to vote for our most wanted - for us sci- fi guys I would love to have some figures to go with our ships!  How cool would it be to re-create the scene from ROJ with the emperor and darth vader walking past the troops in review?  Or a hanger bay full of pilots and troops to go with x-wings and y-wings?  manufacturers are really stepping up and bringing out some great stuff (Battlestar Vipers are awesome ).  so what are we missing?  A 1/35 Millennium Falcon? 1/350 star destroyer?  What do you think?
