They reminded me of pod racers from episode one.

Again, great job on the walker. I wonder if we'll get a kit of that first order scout walker? They had some interesting vehicles when they landed on the salt planet.

I'm at the point where I'm gonna call it done. Got the water added to the base it sat up in two days due to the cold, added some static grass and weeds around too. Now maybe I'm going to get to that Bison II now or maybe another star wars kit. I do have a idea about a Jedi Interceptor form epIII but as far as I know no complany has made a model of that fighter. Anyway here is some photos

Yes, definitely a nod to the B-17 Flying Fortress. Very cool looking ship. Surprised it didn't have astrodroids to assist in some functions.

Rob, it does have the B-Wing look doesn't it. And both are made by the same company, Slayn and Korpil. The bomber is known as the MG-100 StarFortress SF-17.

I am sure the term Fortress and number 17 combined with it having ball turrets is no accident.

Gamera thanks it's still coming together. Rob I really liked the bombers in LJ too. Be nice to see a 1/72 model of it.

They had a bit of a B-Wing look to them. I wonder if they come from the same "manufacturer".

Really nice work there esp with your paint issues! Love the trees and groundwork.

I know I got a y-wing and a-wing in the stash want to get two more y-wings and another a-wing and make a lighted diorama. I wish they would come out with a b-wing.

Just a guess, but the B-wing just made an appearance for a blink in ROTJ. They seem to be doing the classics and newer ships. Those LJ bombers were cool though.

Loking good Clint. I know what you mean about the trees, it is tedious, but nothing on the market looks right.

Awesome job on this build. One of my favorite things about the AT-ST is that you can weather it just like armor because it is armor. I've bought up so many of the Bandai Star Wars kits, but just haven't gotten around to doing anything with them. I need to get some done. The TIE Striker is very interesting.

With Christmas over, new year around the corner and the day I have to go back to work closing in I had some time to work on the AT-ST base. Number one, I forgot how much I hate making wire trees but still can't find anything premade either so I got to keep doing it. That and jungle trees are a new area for me too. The base is made of foam carved out using a lighter, model railway rocks for the stream bed, and going to use EnviroTex Lite for the water, never have used it always have went with Magic Water in the past but since this isn't going to be a deep poor I thought I would give this a try. If you guys want a detailed write up on how I do trees I'm more then happy to do that too. Base is about 75% finished here so lot more still to go on my fast AT-ST project (at least thats what I told myself it was going to be)

Looks good to me. I also thought that it was intentional before reading the text.

Only thing i can think of is to blacken around the scratches. Remember you have that decal thats meant to represent a blaster hit on the front. Maybe try and recreate that effect with paint or weathering powders.

Bish

Why would that clear flat react like that to the Tamya. Never seen that before. But i checked the pics before reading and i thought those scratches were deliberate. I actually like it, could be made to look like deflected blaster hits.

The Tamiya paint no idea but I've read where others have had the model crack all over the place when painting with enamels. I was thinking the same thing with the blaster hit, make it the reason why it was knocked out and abandoned. Not sure how I would go about doing that, any suggestions?

Bish

Just seen a couple of tehse built on the Starwars GB, looks a great kit. Can't wait to see what you do with it. Nice start.

Thanks Bish, I got a Idea in my head hope I can get it into model form.

After assembly I primed the rest of the walker in Tamiya XF-69 flat black then built up XF-19 sky grey over that at the end of the day it looked really good. Then something happened, forgeting about what I read about only using acrylics I shot the entire model with Mr. super clear flat. Now I have a crack going down the side of the head. The Mr. super clear also has seemed to mess with the sky grey coat too. Never seen anything like it before. Started weathering with a very heavy dry brushing of XF-20 medium grey over everything then a lighter dry brushing of XF-19 sky grey on all the high points. Next came scratches made with XF-63 German grey. Final weathering with Flory wash dark dirt over everything again. In the end I think the effect came out better then if the flat coat wouldn't have attacked the plastic imho. Thanks for looking.

I haven't built the 2 Bandia kits I have, the Y wing and a TIE interceptor, and with all these cool looking kits floating around it is hard to resist. You walker looks really good so far. Please keep posting pictures. A HUGE Star Wars fan myself but only from what I have seen on the screen. Keep up the great work.

Well I had said my next project was going to be a Dragon Bison II, but I couldn't let this just sit any longer. For a snap togeather kit I was really surprised by the amount of detail this kit really has. My idea for this is to have a abandoned walker in a forest not endor but more of a rain forest area like Borleias I don't think it's "Canon" anymore. Anyway got the legs and mid section built and primed then started working on the cockpit. This area is very nicely done but still added a few things like the rail behind the seats made from wire and tubing and seat cushions made from miliput, that I don't have in yet. Also went through the spare parts and found a hatch from I think a 1/76 tiger but not sure, to cover the hole in floor. First thing in the cockpit was to prime it in Tamiya XF-69 Nato Black folowed by the base color of XF-22 RLM02 Grey. I know its not accurate but I think it looks like a good color for here. Some boxes and details was painted with Vallejo German grey then dry brushed with light grey. The scopes in front and on the side was painted with Vallejo Geman camo bright green and the padding on the sides was drybrushed a mix of Vallejo German field grey and Geman camo bright green. I've heard that you can't use enamels on Bandai kits it causes the plastic to start cracking and falling apart so I don't want any of that. So I was thinking what to use for a dirty wash and then remembered I have a couple of bottles of Flory wash that was given to me 5 or 6 years ago by a friend who didn't like them well they will be perfect for this job since the bottle says its a water based clay wash so should be good to go. I just slathered it on then went back trying to get rid of all the air bubbles and in the end really like how it turned out. Thanks for looking and any comments or questions are welcomed I'm a useless source of information on star wars "old canon" as wellBig Smile
