Outstanding work and very cool looking. Where are you going to display this when done? Have a place in mind yet?

Echo Base is getting close to being finished just some small details left to go like blocking off the sides so you can't see the wiring. Started with building a small treadwell droid.

Then painted up the two Gonk Droids and two of the R2 units all are 3d printed from shapeways.

Then added everything to the base positions still are not final I will probably fine tune them later plus I need to find a new Chewy the kit figure was just awful.

And finally a video showing all the lights going I'm sorry for it being upside down but for some reason youtube fliped it and I'm new to uploading to youtube and have no idea how to flip it back.

Some nice work going on here Rambo. It's an ambitious project that you are doing a great job on.

I wanted to add a troop transport to the diorama so looked up the size of the prop then worked them to 1/72nd and made up a sketch for it. I used them cheap for sale plastic cards you can get at the hardware store a lot cheaper then getting styrene sheets from evergreen. Then added some bits from the spare box and brass wire. It's not the best but after some putty, sanding and primer I think it will fit in good.

Nice work there on the figures. Takes some guts to cut them up with a razor saw but you can get any pose you want with a little work! 

Started working on the figures. Started with Luke, the figure from the hasegawa set just didn't look the part.

So after a routine head transplant Luke looks the part now

Then started on Leia, Took a micro razor saw and cut her legs off to take her from sitting to standing.

That looks amazing... I love it! I really like that first image with the colored backlighting. That is very cool.

So I got all the electric hooked up and it all works first try! Started adding the thick conduit to the walls and floors. Next I will start weathering it and trying to figure out clutter and where the figures will be.

I love the stuff this is my second time using it the first was my Eduard Bf110 build.

Just a quick update wanted to show the Falcon and Snowspeeder on the base. The groundwork is the same as the cave Sculptamold mixed a bit more wet with Krycell Precision ice and snow sifted on top of it then the Falcon pushed into the wet groundwork to lock it down good to the base.

Yes I flare the ends of the fiberoptics for two reasons, one it makes them brighter and two more area keeps them from pulling out the back. I forgot to say but I also used Modge Podge to lock them in super glue will destroy them.

Ok good to know. I will experiment with that.

I was having trouble figuring the size of your echo base, then pops up the pic with your gloved hand. Holy C3PO, that thing is huge! (the base, not your hand).

I have a question for you. Why did you flare the fiberoptic? Are you doing that to increase the diameter of them? If yes... how will that affect the light output? I am working on a project where I'd like to simulate instrumentation. This might help me along those lines.
