Where do you source your leds, etc. from??

I get mine off Amazon you can get 100 for around $8. Some come with resistors but don't use them they are usally way to big for what you need and also not very good quality. Use a online resistance calculator then source the reistors you need that way.

Things to think of before ordering

1. How many LEDs are you going to be using.

2. What is the voltage and MA of your power source.

3. Will you be running your LEDs in series or parallel.

4. Color of LEDs since different colors draw different MA

Once you know that then you can run it through you calculator and figure out what to buy.

Here's a good one.

I would suggest a Bandai Y wing the engines would be easy to light in that. Next would be things like do you know how to solder? How to work with LEDs? Just ask if you have any questions.

What type of subject do you have in mind?

My first lighting project was a Halcyon Aliens APC.  I bought prewired LEDs, switches, and coin battery holders, which made the job easy.  I also selected the LEDs and batteries so that resistors were not required.  One lesson I learned is that you should solder connections.  If I shake the model, the lights go off!
