Model sail ships from a Russian museum
Posted by crackers on Thursday, March 22, 2018 1:44 AM

Karen Melkonian shared on Facebook there models from a Russian museum.

                        H.M.S CUMBERLAND of 1774

This royal yacht under the personal command of King Gustavus III of Sweden, defeated the Russians at Svenskund in 1790 on the Finnish archipelago.     AMPHION

The ex-French East Indianman, DUC DE DURAS made famous by John Paul Jones when the 1779 engagement with H.M.S SERAPIS on the BONHOMME RICHARD.

If you feel overwhelmed by the qualuity of workmanship, one must remember these superb models are made by professional model makers. Amateurs like us would be unable to equal the quality unless in possition of skills, talent and experience.

Happy modeling    Crackers    IndifferentBeer

Arguably, amateurs are the only ones who can realistically equal that quality. Professionals don't have the time - or rather, their customers don't have pockets deep enough to pay for it when it's charged by the hour.

And yes, I have seen such work done by non-professionals. Models of that calibre are really impressive to look at.
