1/35 RPG Phalanx CIWS

It seems CIWS is not an item 100% belongs to Ships. As it usually mounted on board, so I think I post it here.

The kit is okay, just some mistakes in the instruction book, and too long the gun barrels which needed to be cut short almost 1cm.

Some photo etched parts are actually "too much".

Well, comparing to Legend's resin kit, this is a lot more easier to build.

Hope you like it.

Which kit is that. The build and weathering look really nice.

Welcome too!

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Good job.  The weathering is not excessive and I love the face.  I may have to look this one up.

Thank you, Douglas. I would love to see some models of other stuff like radars and gun directors.

May be some day. Manufacturers produce quite some rare items we never dream of.

Had a quick trip around the 'net, RPG appears to be brand new, and with a distinct affinity for ground-based multi-target systems (especially those based on the CIWS latform).

Not a lot of reviews yet, but some interesting stuff.

And, to OP's point, there's no "perfect" model kit--just some that are easier than others.

That is true. Some are easier to build, some are like nightmare. Haha.

Mr. Chan,

Thank you for sharing those pictures. I'm to the point of applying primer to the major subassembles for my own model. I'm thinking about displaying the model with the door in the radome open. I've found one photo showing the parabolic antenna; this apperas to have been approximately gunship gray with a black feedhorn ring.

Do you have any idea what color the radar antenna support framing is? I'm guessing white.

BTW, I'm already committed to the "Elizabeth" (anime) color scheme as per the kit instructions, with the white radome top and the gull gray radome "silo."
