I have model kit 05204 from Revell but no instructions. Hoping another reader can scan them in and email to me at Stphn_Spnn@yahoo.com. Thanks, Signalpoint.

thought i had it but i have the lindberg classic repelica series north atlantic fishing trawler in 1/90 scale. they look similar. actually they look identical except for scale. didn't revel add some ecm gear to this model and put it out as a soviet intel trawler?

i forgot i had this must be at least 20 years old. started it and had trouble with getting rid of injection marks so i put it aside. looks like it will be fun to do, especially the rigging and the weathering at that scale. may have to find some figures and make a fishing net.

i wonder how old this ship really is. if it's 1930s i could throw a 2 lb cannon on the bow and call it an armed asw trawler from early in the war.

if you want these instructions, let me know.

Personally I've never had this kit, nor the instructions, however, this chap seems to be building it, and I'm pretty sure, that he understands English, so you might ask him for a copy of the booklet. Anyway, I'll mention this on his tread so that he might expect an e-mail or pm from you.

I'm afraid the Revell and Lindberg (ex-Pyro) kits are completely different.  The Lindberg-Pyro kit was pirated from the old Model Shipways solid-hull wood trawler Hildina, and dates from the early fifties; the Revell one is a good bit more recent, and, if I remember right, considerably smaller.  They're both pretty decent kits; either could be the basis for a good scale model.

I did happen to see the Revell "North Sea Trawler" in a Revell Germany box at our local hobby/toy store just a couple of days ago.  That store only opened recently; if it has that kit, the kit presumably is currently available (from Revell Germany).  A determined search of the Revell Germany website might yield a means of getting a new instruction sheet mailed to you. As a matter of fact, I think some of Revell Germany instructions can be downloaded.

Youth, talent, hard work, and enthusiasm are no match for old age and treachery.

I've posted a message on the Dutch forum where that other chap is building it as well and he replied that he's going to look for the instruction sheet and that he will (e-)mail you during this week or next week. Hope this was of some help for you...

PS : the thought of looking for the instructions on the Revell site crossed my mind as well, but, although a lot of their instructions are already available as pdf files, the one our friend here needs aren't.... that's Murphy again I guess Smile [:)]

Sorry guys,

I eMailed a full set of instructions to signalpoint yesterday and forgot to post here to save anyone else from going to any more trouble trying to find a set.  Sorry about that.

The Revell kit is nice.  It's supposed to be based on the real Arctic Corsair which is now part of a maritime museum in Hull, England.  The model is very similar but the actual ship is considerably shorter in length.  The museum used to have a website with good photographs of the trawler fishing in the Arctic in the 1960's (great for weathering tips) but it seems to have disappeared.  I recently donated my model to an old folks home in a fishing port and they love it.  Its a nice talking point when the family and grand children visit!

The Revell kit I saw in the hobby shop today was the "arctic corsair". I believe the scale, indicated on the box, was 1/140, which sounds right, as the figures in the "Volga"(virtually the same model) were very close to the 1/120 ( N scale) figures from Woodland Scenics. Sitting right next to the "corsair" was the Lindberg "Sir Henry Morgan", which was neither the "jolly Roger", nor the "Captian Kidd" kits. This is a re-release of yet another model.
