Good day Steve,

Thanks for your attention to my build :),

you asking abt blocks - most of them were made /casted from epoxy , but since starting mizzen mast rigging, I began using some of fabric made bloks , size of 2.0 mm, which I don't have anymore on stock and lazy to replanish my stock/made them again :)... found some model company which made various sizes of wooden blocks with correct shape and good quality(for my test)... after painting, they looks very similar to epoxy blocks which I used on this model.

last days I completed upper mizzen sail lift and rigged main topgallant braces...

I just stumbled across this thread, I. AM. SPEACHLESS!!! You dear sir, are a master amongst mere mortals!

I have seen your comments here and there on this forum and as I have been updating my Constitution log I decided to lurk around and saw this build log, words simply cannot describe what you are creating, I have been studying this build for the last 4 hours and I still can't believe the detail, well done sir! Well done!

Good day,

Dear friends, Thank you very much for your attention and positive comments!

I'm very glad you found this building interesting :)))

Since my last reports,  I ve had some smal progress in rigging mizzen and bonaventure masts...

And this summe had some experiments with potal instead of gold paint!

What I could say... using "potal "( artificial gold flakes) it makes much more gilded effect than any other gold paint...it is very easy to apply it as well ....just only it need to be finished with glossy varnish at the end, to preven changing ib colors...without varnish finish coat it became reddish as time passes...

and later I desided to replace stern picture for relief with Holly Mother,as seems to me it is more suitable to be here than previous picture...

there are a few foto of Duyfken replica , to compare mizzen rigging arrangements with my model...there was/and still have :) a question how to arrange mizzen "bowlines"?....it is difficult to imagine , how they should work when controling mizzem yard movement fron side to side...?

here you could see mizzen bowlines rigged in a little bit different way

some pictures more with rigging, and my experiments with making artificial rope coil... how they looks now ,I like more, than my previous version...

became looks more realistic as seems to me...

What do you think ?

there are a few pictures abt  kit anchor convertion...it need to be made a little bit different form , more ancient, than kit's anchor...

and here a few pictures regarding this " potal" which I mentioned early...

prepaired lead bloks for spritsail sheet pendant

  this potal shining too bright

actually, on galleon' decor shouldn' be some gilded decor or gold paint...it is not historical accurate... but I like this ...:)))

later on I will try to change decor painting scheme / need to remove most of this "gold"/ to replace it for ordinary shaded colors...

Kirill,

Your work is so excellent and superior to most models I've seen on the Internet that I think you ought to consider asking these folks:

http://navalmuseum.ru/

If they'd like to pay you 637,500 rubles for it? Actually that's only $10,000 USD - it's probably worth more Big Smile

This is a truly outstanding and inspiring job! Thank you for sharing!

I didn't know IMAI manufacture until recently, are thos kit still in production? I made a search on the web with no results, I'm particularly interested in the plastic ones, they seems to be a nice starting point for adding more details.

Good day Bruma,

Thank You very much for attention to my building :) !

There is a link, where You could find all very raritet plastic models...

https://www.hismodel.com/articles-category-5

Radek is a good seller, I had a few times deal with him... purchased couple of galleon' models...Airfix's Revenge and Golden Hind ... this kit , which is now building, he has as well... there are a few repack of this kit by other makers as well, as I know... they are chipper than IMAI kit...

All the Best!!!

First off, bravo sir. Your spanish galleon ship build is truly a work of art and time. An inspiration to anyone.

As a builder myself, I stumbled onto your post as I too am looking at building this ship from Aoshima 1/100 scale.

I would absolutely love if you could help me in the area of rigging my ship ?
