Rigging question: Heller Galion vs Mayflower
Posted by Klomuschel on Sunday, March 19, 2017 8:11 AM

Hi all

After some years of being absent I ordered the "Heller Galion" kit (I haven't got any photos yet; a random google search: http://www.club-campi.fr/Affiche_Initiation.php?Id=GALION%20HELLER%201/200%20REF%20835&PageDemandee=7).

I also lost my "zu Mondfeld" book while moving to a new city and buying a flat.

I have a question: is it a good idea to use the following reference for rigging my Galion:

http://www.historicships.com/TALLSHIPS/Model%20Shipways/Mayflower/MS2020-Mayflower-Instructions.pdf

Are there many differences between Spanish and English rigging methods for that time period around the 16th/17th century?

Btw: I have a hard time to understand Figure 44 in said article. I do not get it how the mizzen mast is actually fastenend (and how the  lifting works) to the mast.

Thanks from the UK
