I have been told, by my Welsh cousins, that the last thing Americans do...in desperation...is read the directions. Smile

How did you do with the directions? I have three kits, one for parts only and can send you a copy. These kits all came with the figures so they are older kits.

LIVIT

Thanks for posting that link. I am also building a newer release 1/96 and the instructions are rather lacking !   DJ

Hello all.....I am looking to purchase an extra set of the 1/96 figures that came with the revell USS Constitution kit. Anyone out there that may let go of theirs or are not using them for a reasonable charge? Thanks!

drthomp,

Here is a .pdf’s from radekshipmodels.cz that will help you out if you get stuck. They are the old instructions and are downloadable. The rigging instructions are at the end.

hope this helps,

Steve

Thank you very much. My instructions only use the * and curved arrow which means repeat. Generally this is fine to understand when it comes to port and starboard etc, but for some reason they cut corners on the booms -which are poorly depicted to begin with. Placement of the blocks is sort of approximated. You perfectly answered my question though and i thank you for it. I am going with No Sails

Yes, repeat both sides.  You must have a new release.

Are you building with, or without sails?  One set of instructions called for sets of blocks to run the sails and the other leaves them off.  The boom plans should have shown each block placement across the boom, and it gets sketchy for the blocks that run out the studding booms and placement for a number of yard control blocks seem to show only one, but two are needed on each side of the mast.  I am about 75% complete with the running rigging on mine with old instructions.

Hello, I am building the Revell Constitution and when it comes to tying blocks on masts (such as in Steps 25 -30) it shows that you tie blocks to ONE side of the booms. The same side as the walking ropes. I am wondering if the * means to mirror the whole thing on other side as well. IN translation, step 25 part 170 shows one block and one walk rope. Is that accurate or do i need to tie 2 blocks and another walkrope? SOrry to be dense
