DIE ZEVEN POVINCIEN Dutch model.
DIE ZEVEN PROVINCIEN, "The Seven Provinces", named after the seven outonomous provinces during the 17th century Dutch Republic (seen in the middle of this painting by the Dutch marine artist, Willem Van de Velde) was the flag ship of the bloody but indecisive Four Days Battle from June 11 to June 14, 1666 fought off the Flemish coast during the Second Anglo-Dutch War.
Russian ship modeler, Igor Capinos, of St. Petersburg, Russia, created this exquisit model,of the Dutch flagship DIE ZEVEN PROVINCIEN. at 1/48 scale. The construction of this project took five years to complete.
I like scatch building ship models, but I doubt I would have the patience to endure five years of a project, like this.
