Steve, You are a much better, finer modeler than me. I am just faster. Model building has just kept me happy for 78 years.

Thank you all for all the compliments. Tank, I don't know if I ever told you that i scratch built that 1911 Marmon Wasp from plans I got at Indy. I carved it from a block of Bass wood & made the details & used O rings for tires. There is a man that makes Indy decals & they are nice.

Here are 2 pics of it.

Most of the Gato's had antenna wires from either side of the fairwater to a mast back toward the stern, about where you light gray ends at.  They were on tripod standoffs on each side of the fairwater.  Rear masting was a tubular upright with a short "T" on top.

Quite a few photos of the setup on various boats on NavSource.

Nicely done on all 4 of them, makes a good break from a big sail build.

I just finished a Bronco 1/200 Russian Kilo sub that Nino gave me . That makes 4 for my 1/200 display. I will go to 1/144 next. I do like to build subs & they are a nice break after sailing ships.

I dropped off the big Victory for a while to build the Renwal 1/200 Ethan Allen with an interior. Then I got a couple WW2 1/200 kits. Here are pictures of my Riich USS Gato  & Nichimo IXC U Boat. Really nice kits.

The regular small subs are very easy to build & a lot of fun. I built the IXC in 5 days & the USS Gato in a week. I still have a little to do on the Gato. Did it have any aerial wires?

I really like the size of the 1/144 subs better as they are bigger & easier for me to work on. Revells VIIC 41 is a beautiful kit & builds up nicely.
