1/350 scale cowled ventilators

I'd like to see someone - maybe the 3Ders - come out with various sized vents for scratchbuilders. I've had to use the leftovers from a couple Jeremiah O'briens lately...and they're really a pain to scratchbuild.

Some of what are currently listed at Shapeways.   If the available sizes do not exactly fit your needs, contact the designer about resizing.   Most will accomodate within the limits of the 3D printing process.

The above are designed for use with Evergreen tube to allow for variable height.

I agree that we need more aftermarket vents.  I have never used Shapeways.  I guess I should look over their site.

Another aftermarket accessory we could use in multiple scales are rope coils.

I like them. I've bought a number of things, most recently ship screws.

Like other model ship suppliers, much of it is sold on actual dimensions.

When you search, don't include scale.

A little math solves that.

Those look super, you should give them a try.

Another hearty vote for trying Shapeways.

Made my first purchase from them just recently...4" guns to replace the lumpy and seam-ridden 'sewer-pipes' on the old Revell 1/240 Four-Stacker DDs. These are they, pre-cleanup:

I was quite pleased. (Now I'm looking at 3"-ers for a Reuben James conversion.)

Yup, another vote for Shapeways here. I picked up several items for a Lindberg DE project that I will be kicking off shortly.

Ditto. I have the Pennsylvania  bridge in 1/426 (ModelMonkey-Tks Steve!). Also picked up the CV-6 Island for Tamiya (before I saw the Academy and Trumpeter releases.)

Next up: 1/600 6" turrets for a Lindberg "Cleveland" class.  I want to see what can be done with this kit (Sand the hull, scrap/replace the deck, replace all the guns... What's the point? ...FUN!)

Good luck with that! I gave up. The bottom is all wrong, the 5" guns are pancakes, it just couldn't hold my attention once I opened the box of my 1/700 Pitroad Cleveland.
