Kalmbach subscriptions
Posted by CapnMac82 on Saturday, March 16, 2019 12:46 PM

I just noticed today that Kalmbach thinks my email account applied for on-line subscriptions to nearly all of the web magazines.

Any one else see this, before I go steaming off to the head honchos?

Yes, but it's not too hard, just tedious, to unsubscribe. What's weird is that the spam is showing up in email account that AFAIK is not linked to them.

If that's the case, I wonder if their database may have been hacked and these may be phishing emials from bad guys?

Has anyone clicked hotlinks to see if credit card info, etc is being requested?

I believe this is the case, and clicking on the link may be a bad idea. Just delete the emails, and call it a day.

It's possible they're doing maintenance and someone forgot to turn something off.  Or maybe some testing.

Hopefully nothing malicious.

Thank you all for your responses.

Bad things happen in the dark in cyber-world; only sunlight seems to cure those events.

And, there's no such thing as a "little" dat penetration or malicious attack, not any more.

I wanted to be sure before putting this infront of the cyberwarfare community.

Bruce, you are absolutely right and that was shortsighted of me to suggest anyone do that.

Don't anyone do that please!
