Scratching an old itch ;

Hi Ya'll :

 Yeah it's the ole T.B. agin .This time with an off the wall something to think about . How many of us have seen the old Disney Classic " 20,000,00 Leagues Under the Sea " ? Yeah I know It was written by Jules Verne and first published in French ! Also His description in the book is way different from Disney's Model Shop Creation !

 I have a paper Model of the ship as described by Verne in the original French .My,My what a difference . Conning tower ,side windows etc , Totally foreign to Disney's guys !

 I have a suggestion here .I know that Pegasus has , Had ? one .Now take that and Modify it to the Disney standards ! Nope ! Too expensive ! How about this ,Get as many pictures ( drawings , Photos ,etc of the Disney version) and build it from scratch , with influences from the paper one !Nope ! Not for the beginner , but building the paper Model will make you comfortable enough that you can build this Gorgeous " Steam-Punk " ( That's what it's design has been called ) version using scraps from your Evergreen Scrapbox .

 If you don't have one that's okay , Start with a Type VII "U" Boat ! Any thoughts anyone ?   T.B.   Oh , by the way , have your Rivet Wheel handy , She's got a lot !

It has always been an interest of mine to do so.

For the movie version, when I was building a 1/9 model of Nemo in his diving suit, my primary source of information was a website for a guy who made all kinds of 20K stuff, including functioning diving helmets like Nemo and his crew used. I'll try to find it.

 Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

That is beautiful!

We had a thread awhile ago about what is a Master Modeler.  Santa is a good example of one!

And, at the lower end of the modeling spectrum...  Here is my 1st paper kit.  with two more versions shrunk down to 1/180 and 1/200 scale to match with some Plastic Subs.

It was fun.

And that is exquisite work Santa.  Thanks.
