https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10214205202950618&set=a.10203046316625434&type=3&theaterYesterday was the first time I've entered a model contest in over 20 years. My Bow Section of the Cutty Sark won First Place in the catagory 903 and a special award for creativity. This model was heavily damaged by Katrina. I dismasted the kit, cut off the broken hull, cleaned, stripped, repainted and re-rigged the foremast and jib boom. Now I need to build a case.

Good job Jake. I really like it and it's not going to be as hard to store.

I'm still working on the post-Katrina Imai Victory you sold me.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Jake,

Good to hear from you.  Yes, The photo you sent me awhile back of your Bow section blew me away.  1st, a great idea.  2nd  A most excellent restoration execution.

Easily worthy of 1st place IMHO.

Thanks for the Facebook link.  Stick a Picture on FSM too if you get a chance.

Thanks for all the good advice too...

                   Jim.

P.S.  Tightest Lines I have ever seen.

Guess What?

I think what you did was not only excellent work, but an extraordinary way of making the most of salvageable parts .Congrats for using the unique parts to creat a unique model.

The only thing I seem to plant is my big butt in a chair.
