Hi all. I'm building an old Pyro USS Constellation that as we all know was based on the modified Sloop of War from 1854 or so.
I'm modifying the model to more closely resemble the 1797 frigate and have cut out the waist, added guns to the visible portion of the gundeck, relocating the jolly boat hanging over the stern and plan on adding two long gun chasers to the bow in addition to the two carronades I made. Also I modified the quarter deck guns to resemble carronades.
I'm at the point wher I need to make a decision about that grossly inaccurate round stern. I'm considering either modifying the existing pieces to be flat, scratch build a flat transom and cabin windows, or maybe buy a small Lindberg Constitution and use that flat transom for my Constellation Frigate.
I'll try and get some pics up.
Suggestions?
Cheers!
Jon
