Thanks, guys. I have built several 1:700 ships that had PE and did okay. I see Toms has PE and I can get the ship cheap.
It may be my last in that scale- my hands have developed a palsey, but I believe the old saying, "use it or lose it." I may bive it a try.

Nino There's a Zvezda 1/700 kit too. "New Tooling" in 2016. I have not seen any reviews presenting details on accuracy yet. You could be first.

It is a good clean basic beginner or weekend build.
I have a pretty big collection of ship model books, some old and funky. I would say tyhat prior to 1997, it is defineitely NOT a common subject.
Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
Don,
Which Academy kit? They have a Colored (MCP) kit and the LED kit from their 2012 release. Don't get the 2007 release. They made a new mold for the 2012 model.
Interesting Youtube review:

This YouTube video compares Academy 1/700 Titanic and Revell 1/700 Olympic. (Yes, I know, not the best comparison, but some interesting observations are presented.)

P.S. I probably will never attempt a 1/700 RMS Titanic. I will invariably want to add pe and I'll end up with benches and railings all over the rug.
Not finding that many good build reviews. Anyone here build that? Seems a reasonable price and I see Tom's has several PE sets.
