Starting this build, but I noticed that the wooden stick-on deck is about 1/40" thick. While very thin, is it worth sanding down the plastic deck base to accommodate the wood's thickness? There are some bumps and hatches that must be cut down, but a little extra could provide more space over the main deck for a better fit...or is that just too obsessive compulsive to worry about?
Another thing, there are rows of delicate bow vents under the dive planes. Instead of drilling them out, or even sanding them out from behind, does anyone know who/if makes a PE set w/ preformed slots to replace those on the left and right sections? I've seen one manufacturer, but that set is for a diff sub.
Thanks
