I'm amazed at the detail you are putting into this!  How did you make all the placards on the parts for the the recovery compartment?

Very well planned model I'd say!!! Did you use Plastruct to fabricate all the louvers and channeling?

Thanks Artworks2.  I use a varity of Plastruct and Evergreen.

We're not worthy! We're not worthy! (while on knees before computer monitor, raising hands and bowing in total supplication)

Seriously, that's a IPMS Nationals best-in-class, if not best-in-show worthy build. I am in awe of your innovation, talent and skill. Just amazing work, Lancair!

Finished the rivets in the Recover Compartment. I have no idea how many, nor do I care right now......

Test Fitting again

Foiled and primed the Parachutes

And another test fit

Time for more details

Hi, I've been following this for a while, amazing attention to detail!  I'm currently researching the interior of freedom 7 for a virtual reality model and have turned up a lot of geed reference material, happy to share if ouy like as I've noticed a few areas on your build that aren't quite right for freedom (but are right for later capsules) such as the missing personal parachute, late explosive hatch etc.  Only littel things that the untrained eye wouldn't notice though!

Just incredible.

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

I spent my Labor Day painting part of my garage and working on the Recovery Compertment.  I started by Adding interior walls.

I added the 1/4 section walls and reinforcement ribs.

Next up, more rivets.......

This is one of the most detailed builds I have seen.  Quite impressive.  One of these kits is in my stash and you have raised the bar quite high.  I commend you and will be referring to your build when I start mine.
