Hello!

Like TB said - paper models are serious as a heart attack!

And more seriously - even more people see totally all models as toys. Why worry about a handful of people who are willing to invest their time in discussion going "this baby is serious hobby while that one is totally unserious hobby". Let's put our hearts in our work and try to convince some - and to h*ll with the rest.

Well actually no .

  Only here .there is a whole site out of England that is exclusively Paper or Card models .believe me when I say some of those will knock your socks off ! Pawel , who posts here can vouch for them too .

Thanks. I'm using postimg.org, too, but which type of URL do I pick? I tried one and it pasted the photo but the photo was way oversized. Is there a way to shrink it appropriately?

Be careful with the snow. I lived in St. Paul for 20 years. Moved to the Middle East in 2014. I do NOT miss shoveling snow....

 

 

There is a forum down below the Modeling Subjects area, in a section called Feedback, Help and Testing.  The specific forum is called Forum Technical Assistance. A lot of folks have been having trouble lately, since Photobucket dropped their free hosting service. The addresses from some photo hosting sites don't work that well with FSM forums. I have started using Postimage and really like it.  I have had no problems with it, and it is faster than Photobucket was.

Not to anyone who has actually tried to build a card model!  I have and they are very demanding.  Unlike a plastic model, once you make a mistake, there is no going back.  Those who disparage card models probably think only of children's pop-up books!

I guess I could've done that. Next time, perhaps.

I sometimes worry about card models not being taken seriously, though, and a separate forum for them sometimes feels like the kiddie table at Thanksgiving dinner....

 Now you did an awesome job .I would've liked that you post it in card or " Paper Models "though . I am hopeful that more will try this fascinating avenue of modeling .

 Remember , I said some were done so good at an I.P.M.S. show , everyone thought they were plastic .

I don't like thumbnails anyway.  It takes an extra click. I like it when folks just insert the main picture.

Right, in that case, i have no idea. I know a few others use postimage, somone must go so from a similar device.

I'm on an iPad so right-clicking is not something I do....

I just opened the pic, right clicke, selected properties and copy and paste the url.

Thanks. For some reason, I'm not figuring it out. I click on "Insert" and add the URL from postimg.org, but no photo shows up.

postimg.org gives me the choices of Link, Direct Link, Thumbnail for forums, Thumbnail for website, Hotlink for forums and Hotlink for website. I've tried all of them and no joy. Just little white rectangles.

To post the images directly, you need to select reply and use the insert/edit image tab.

Still trying to figure out how to add thumbnails from postimg.org but if you click on the little white boxes that say "X-15," you should be able to see photos. In theory.
