Resin air bubbles
Posted by masonme2 on Thursday, July 31, 2014 12:31 PM

How do I repair small air bubbles in resin parts? I have some slicks and several other parts that I want to use on my current build and was wondering how to fill/repair the small air bubbles that are present.

I inject CA into the hole ( thin or thick depending on the size bubble )  then pack baking soda into the wet glue.

repeat the process until the bubble is a little over filled, then sand smooth.   You don't hafta wait long to sand if you then use accelerator ( recommended )

Hello!

Or drill it out a little and put a small length of stretched sprue in the hole, glue with super glue. Sanding it flush takes care of it all. Hope it helps, good luck with your project and have a nice day

I use the same putty I use to fill seams.

And Chuk on this forum recommends White-Out.  I haven't tried it yet, but he uses it to fill pinholes and seams.  The advantage of the stuff is that it dries very fast, and is easily-sanded down.
