Camo netting
Posted by TheMotherLand on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 11:12 AM
I am looking to add some camo netting to my models to give them a little more detail. What are some good ways to make realistic netting?

I've tried stretching out medical gauze before. Looks pretty good

I second what Woody said.  I had some Verlinden "netting".  Honestly, it looked just like medical gauze to me!  Buy a roll at the store and practice until you get what you want.  One great piece of advice I got here (If you are going to roll up your netting and put on a vehicle or something)was to use some watered down plain white glue (like Elmers) and once you have it in place, take a paint brush and lightly "paint" on the glue, press it down where it looks realistic.  Made a big difference in the look of the netting.  Hope this helps.

Hey Terry, that does look a little thicker than the Verlinden and medical gauze!  Looks a bit more realistic I think!  Thanks for the reference!

i am really trying to find something i can paint and drape over modern tank turrets like the british and germans do. it seems by the time i paint it it's too stiff and doesn't drape freely. and creating barracuda naetting (if that is the swedish guy) is insane.

HOWEVER for rolled netting or deployed netting i use bridal veil, painted and sprinkled with dried oregano.
