Stretching sprue
Posted by modelcrazy on Thursday, October 9, 2014 8:02 PM

for those of you who slave over a candle, I've found an easy way to make stretched sprue to any gauge you want.

First light up the end of the sprue and blow it out.

Immediately place the melted end onto a piece of cardboard and pull it away.

Pull as fast or slow as needed to make the gauge desired.

I was dubious of the method at first, until I tried it.

Yeah, but smokin' plastic isn't good for the lungs. I'd have to try that outside the house.

I wear a mask and do it in the garage.

Neat trick! Yeah, I'd do that outdoors.

Off topic but it looks like your scratchbuilding an old sailing ship. You got it going in the ship forum, moelcrazy?
