Eye Shadow?

Unusual but in my opinion, no.

My daughtrer has tons of makeup such as eye shadow and some of the colors would work really well for weathering and such.  Can this type of thing be used or would I risk damaging a model?

I can't imagine that hurting a model in any way.  In fact, I've read numerous suggestions for using it to weather models.  I'd say give it a try, and report back your findings!

Why not?  Isn't it essentially the same thing you get when you buy prepared weathering powders?  That is, it's a pigment, ground very fine, with binders to keep it in place when applied.

You will also find many references to using make-up brushes for weathering.  Many of them are wide and let you apply pigments over a broad area (of course, in their intended use, they're used to apply pigments over a broad area, heh heh!) (Sorry, couldn't resist the pun)

Thanks everyone for the advice.  I think I'll give it a try.  I just wasn't sure if there were oils and such in the makeup that could damage the models finish.  I suppose I should avoid the ones with glitter

I've used it on both resin and plastic models, on top of the final paint coat, and  you can spray clear sealer over it, and it won't run.  Works fine!

Eye shadows are pigments.  I have MIG and AK pigments, so I don't use eye shadows.

However, what's really useful for me is Eye Shadow Sponges.  They are perfect for applying pigments and creating subtle effects.  I bought 100 ESS on eBay for $6.
