Filling gaps in canopies with Superglue help
Posted by B-1 CrewCheif on Monday, August 29, 2016 9:04 AM

Hello all, i am building the 1:48 B-1B from revell and ive come upon a dilemma. The right windshield has a inasne gap that does not allow the windshield to sit flush with the fuselage.

Ive heard that you can use Squadron Superglue to fill in those seams and you can polish them out and make it crystal clear but i was wondering if there were any glues i could buy at walmart?

Thanks for reading.

Most CA's will fog any clear plastic, although there are specially formulated CA's that will not. I would imagine that Squadron's offering has this formulation. Elmer’s and other aphetic resin glues will not fog the plastic and will dry clear. I use Mod Podge for similar problems.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

I have RC56 which i believe is to he like mode podge but it never comes out as clear as i would like it, always has a slight fog to it. Also its very rubbery so polishing is not an option at all.

Nothing at walmart that is able to be polished.
