Hi your'll fellow models that model plastic sailing ships would anyone have any information on how to rig the lines on the Acamdemy 1/150 Cutty Sark the instructions for rigging is not the best they keep saying use the same knot but they never tell you the which knot to use so does any one know what the right knot to use for 1/150 scale I would appreciate any information anyone has on rigging this model-thank you
Ronald
Try the forum for ships under Modelling Subjects. There are so many different knots that can be used that I would'nt know whwere to begin. I would suggest using a simple knot seized with glue.
thank's will give it atry

This is particularly true in smaller scales, and 1:150 scale is small enough that one cannot make out very well the type of knot one uses. Even on larger scale, I use simple overhand knots for, for instance, tying ratlines to shrouds. One cannot really tell which it is. Especially since I paint over it with black paint to represent tarring.
Many lines are not knotted- they are doubled back and wrapped on the ends.

thank you --that is all I needed to know
Hay Ron. This is my 2nd model after a 40 year stay. But I did not use knot, just superglue and a slower glue (Testors). Just to small for me to use nots. Plus I've a form of disease where you shake a lot.
If you did it with knots, you get my vote! Good luck Bud
thanks for your support and very nice job on the Cutty Sark and Im sorry about your shaking disease Ron
Thanks Ron I'm not a perfectionist anymore. (a good thing) no need to be sorry. Being a firefighter for 22 years I always seen worse than I and worse than them.... good luck with the small loose blouse ship. Bud
come back with that Bud -- the loose blouse ship I never heard of that before why do you call it that LOL-Ron
Take a good look at the figure-head of the Cutty Sark in the model. that is part of the literal translation from the Scottish language. LOL. I believe the captain had an eye for the lassies. If the Romans can do it why not I!! On the instructions it might bring the subject up in the history. If not there check out the internet. Lots of interesting info on her.
I just had to find out what Cutty Sark meant. She is a interesting tea runner. God Bless Bub
