Saran Wrap and CA
Posted by EBergerud on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 1:38 AM

Wrote to Zap to find out what surface CA won't stick to. They recommended what is called Saran Wrap. Zap was right too. I taped on a grid on the back of a piece of glass and covered it with Saran Wrap. Then when I was scratch building masts I could use the lines to lay the cut wire I was using nice and straight and pop a bit of CA (just a bit at first to avoid moving anything) to get it into place. As soon as it's solid you can put on more CA or the goop of your choice. Anyway, you can glue something with CA laying down and not glue it to the blinking desk. CA simply does not adhere to Saran Wrap.

Looked at a much earlier thread: I've never though of using the stuff for masking, but it might have some real use there at least for overspray protection.

A model boat is much cheaper than a real one and won't sink with you in it.
