air should not be flowing without pushing the trigger , the muzzle type nozzle idea would disrupt the  cone of spray .

If so, perhaps you need to lubricate the trigger where the little piston goes down when you press it.  Iwata makes a special lube for this purpose.

Gimme a pigfoot, and a bottle of beer...

So you are getting air out of the end of the brush when you don't have the trigger pressed?

Whilst airbrushing recently at about 20psi, for the umpteenth time I held the brush too close to the model after I'd just laid down a nice straight line - cue the airflow blasting it to oblivion...

I then had the idea (and I dunno if any airbrush manufacturers have already done this) of designing an airbrush with a little flip down guard over the nozzle.  If the trigger isn't depressed, it's down and therefore directing air out of the sides instead of forward (a bit like a muzzle brake on a gun or those clamshell door things that deploy over afterburner nozzles) - apply pressure to the trigger and the thing automatically flips up, ready for air and paint to flow!

OK, someone pay me an advance of 50k and I'll design it for them lol

good idea? Or already done?
