Dot filter question

If you have a paint mule, try it on that first.  I have an old B-26 that I really screwed up that is now used for painting experiments.  I have learned a lot and avoided many disasters by trying ideas on that one first.

I would err on the side of...

NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

If the thinner gets under it, it will start to peel it off.  And the acrylics will dry way too fast to get the effect that a dot filter is supposed to achieve.  I am not saying it is impossible... because I am sure someone out there has made it work... but I think you will be better off with oils or enamels for the dots over the acrylic base.

I think you could,but the surface would need an enamel sealer,because you cant use acrylic thinner or alcohol on the acrylic surface,it would damage it.
