Siimple Green as a paint stripper

I've had no luck stripping lacquers with Simple Green or the purple stuff, you can soak for days and nothing - however you can wipe the lacquer off with 91% alcohol fairly easily.

How does this affect polystyrenes. I have a coupel older models I would like to try this with. I am trying to get back into the hobby after a way too long break.

Super Clean is far better. It is a little more caustic but it is still biodegradable.

I think it's about $14 a gallon at Walmart. Strain out the paint particles in it after use and use it over and over.

Simple Green will absolutely remove MM and Tamiya acrylics (some paint might hang on in tight recesses, but I use an old soft-bristle toothbrush to get that out) and I've had decent removal of some MM enamels.

One thing I've noticed- the longer the paint has cured the harder it might be to remove, especially the enamels.

Acrylic and enamel for sure.  I don't know about lacquer.
