Lots of masking tape and my hands. When im glueing bits together like that i usually apply glue, put in place, hold, watch tv untill it dries.

Ah, in that case, depends on the kit, i have some clothes pegs i use. Good for smaller 1:72 kits, sometimes a bit strong though. Someone else might have a better technique.

i was thinking about getting a variety of sizes of those quick grip clamps from harbor freight. im working on revells old 1/32 scale f-16n. it was made in 1988 so its kind of warped but not too bad.

The best clamps I have a got from Harbor Freight.  They are six inch bar clamps, made from plastic except for the metal bar.  They have a trigger and rachet for clamping.  The "pitch" of this mechanism is very fine, so one can really adjust the pressure just right.

Other than those I also use those spring clamps sold in big bags for cheap price, but those are pretty stiff.  I also use wooden clothespins a lot near the tail where I don't need a very wide opening.

I avoid using masking tape across a seam, because glue can wick into the tape and spread to the outside surface of the fuselage, leaving a rough surface.

Thanks Don. I believe those bar clamps are the same ones i was reffering to. i believe "quick grip" was a brand name. glad to see someone else recommend them before i purchased some. recommend any size or just get a variety?
