suggestions for painting cloth bags - M3 half-track
Posted by mgh on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 11:30 AM

Hello All,

Have just begun on a Tamiya half-track.  Fit is excellent, and the kit is going together nicely.  I am not sure how to go about painting the cargo bags.

Here is a picture of a few of them.  Not sure if I should airbrush them in a dark shade, and then try to dry-brush a lighter shade?  I wondered if the soft lines would make it difficult to dry-brush.

Any advice is appreciated.

I would airbrush them in different shades of kahki or OD,which ever you are using to vary their look.then use a liht dust wash on them to show wear and dust.I'm sure you'll get other thoughts on this, you just have to experiment with diffeent methods till you like the look you got.
