Tamiya F4F-4 wing guns
Posted by wjbwjb29 on Sunday, January 15, 2012 1:17 PM

Hello;

I am starting the Tamiya F4F-4 Wildcat and if I saw this before gluing the wing sections together I would have fixed it then. The guns are splt at the wing center line and once glued together dont look very good. I am going to atempt to drill them out but could use any feedback available. I would like to but brass tubing in if I can find the right size. Any help would be appreaciated.

Might be a little late, but...

Also, there are aftermarket brass barrels available in most scales.

I usually use hypodermic needles I get used from a friend who is a horse vet.  Working on the bigger animals he uses a lot bigger needles than most other docs or vets.

There is also a company called (IIRC?) Mini-meca (sp?).  It seems like Sprue Bros carrys some of their tubes.  They have lots of tube shapes and sizes that can be made into gun barrels.
