Also good for removing PE from the fret if you have room to use it.  I've been working on Revell's 1/144 Fletcher and I've removed almost all of the PE from the frets using a chisel blade.

Just launched:  Revell 1/249 U.S.S. Buckley w/ after market PE and guns.

Building: Italieri 1/35 P.T. 596 w/ Lion Roar PE.

Gotta love the chisel-edge blade. Again, the next most used after the #11. Big Smile

X-ACTO No. 17 Blade, Bulk Pack (100) XAC617

Agree. Also called a "chisel" blade.

Its my second most used blade after the #11.

I've even bought an extra handle just to have at the ready and not have to switch out blades.

For those who haven't discovered or used these yet, they are quite the gem. Remove parts from sprue better than any sprue cutters I've used. Minimal sand once parts are removed. Just use the flat edge flush against the part to be removed, a little downward preassure and pop the part comes off with little if any scrap. Also doubles great for putty application and a makeshift planer. I reccomend picking up a pack.
