If you are talking about the "stain" that glue leaves, kind of a gloss looking spot, not etched in finger prints from CA or cement, if you will hit the model with a coat of dull coat either as you final coat (as most ship modelers do) or prior to giving it a final gloss coat, it will kill that glossy sheen from the CA.

G'day josh

Is the model pre painted?

If so then there is no way that I know of to remove glue stains! However if the model is not pre painted then I would suggest that you use fine sandpaper (1200) and lightly sand effected areas. I would also suggest that you don't use the glue for clear parts in the model as it turns the plastic white and cloudy. The only way to fix that is to apply a coat of pledge of future floor polish by brush, air gun or dipping the parts in the future. I use PVA glue as it doesn't effect the clear plastic.

I hope you can find a solution or that you take some information out of these points!

*Help* Remove Glue Spots

Hello, I'm new to the site. I havent built a model in years, was never very good (or patient) with it. However I'm starting to pick it back up and have a huge question I can't seem to find an answer to.

Currently I'm working on a basic Star Trek Enterprise Kit. One of the small models. It's a snap together model however I'm using liquid cement so I get no open cracks, and to make sure it's somewhat solid.

While gluing I've accidentally gotten these glue smudge marks on some of my pieces. Like they are just clear little splotches in some areas. They have already dried. Is there an effective way to get rid of these glue smudges without damaging the model? Like some kind of rubber cement eraser or liquid i could apply to the spots to get rid of them? Should i use like GooGone or soap? The model isn't fully assembled yet just the base pieces.

If it helps I used Testors Liquid Cement. Its the black bottle with the blue sticker. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
