Preparing Photo Etch
Posted by Glorfindel on Thursday, March 15, 2012 4:25 PM

Hey guys I'm in the middle of getting supplies together for a build up of Tamiya's 1/48 scale Pacific Theater Brewster Buffalo. I just landed myself some Eduard Zoom Color Photo Etch for the cockpit and was wondering if it would be a smart idea to shoot a few thin coats of Future over the fret to protect the paint on it before I even start building. Anybody ever do this before because I could swear I read, or heard on YouTube, of someone doing it.

I usually end up painting over (at least some of) that stuff anyway....colors aren't always quite right. Other than that, I've had no problems, and see no need for the extra step......just one more chance to screw up somewhereWink

No need to do that. Just take your time and use care when cutting, bending and positioning the pe details.
