The JLC saw will be your best bet

The saw blade has two sets of teeth on it - make sure to use the finer set to cut the canopy. Fill the canopy with blue-tac or silly putty, or some other non-permanent putty (like used for hanging posters), The putty will support the canopy and help you to see the frame lines, as well. Go slow and you'll be fine. I do it all the time on 1/72 planes.
