Repository of weathering techniques

I am newer to modeling and need help with weathering.  Can people please post weathering techniques for any subject on here with pics and discription.  This way anyone who wants to weather somthing can just check here.

The model railroading folks seem to have invented weathering of models, and they have some excellent techniques.  You might go to your local library and look at any books on model railroading and maybe glance through a number of issues of Model Railroader looking for weathering articles.

Not to say that plastic scale modelers have not acquired good techniques, but I think plastic scale modelers tend to overlook tips from the MR folks.
