Removing Mr. Surfacer

Sanding with increasingly finer grades of sanding cloths should do the trick.

I haven't done it myself but people seem to be able to smooth Mr Surfacer with Isopropyl alcohol. If regular lacquer thinner is too harsh on the plastic, you can use Gunze's Mr Color thinner or Tamiya lacquer thinner. Both of these are "cooler" and are styrene friendly.

Alcohol on a Q-tip works great

Don't use generic Lacquer thinner. It is too strong for plastic.
