I've got a bottle I bought around '95, when it was still called Future.  It's still good, too.

From what I can tell from these posts and Matt Swan's article, there seems to be a ongoing change of names. But thanks again all for the help.

 

I bought a bottle about 4 years ago and it was named Pledge Floor Care. Same stuff as far as I can tell. Some box stores probably carry a generic named product of the same stuff. I think I paid $8 for the name brand. They have one out with lemon too, I avoided that. Looks like now they added Gloss to the title and put on a warmer toned label. Around here the local Stop And Shop stores carry it in the domestic care isle of the grocery store. Ace Hardware too.

         Our Hobbytown in San Antonio(45miles away)- closed two years ago. Next closest is Austin. Traffic and Hippie capitol of Texas Oh! and real Capitol too! Especially during Govt: sessions, Awash with Hot air then!

in australia , I have been using , long life floor polish , I use it for sealing in decals , and in between coats when I put on an oil wash , for a finish it's not a good enough high shine .

There is a lot of discussion on using Pledge floor finish for finishing, sealing, etc. I would like to try this method but I have searched all over this town for Pledge floor finish and nobody has any in stock or they do not carry it. Other than getting on line and ordering one bottle, has anyone used a substitute for the Pledge with similar results?

Also want to do some mud on a diorama. What can I put over the mud I create to appear damp and wet?

Although it hasn't been updated since 2015, I think that's still current.

As far as where to look is concerned, I know that around here-Lehigh Valley, PA-grocery stores, hardware stores, and Walmart all carry it, in with the cleaning supplies.

I've used Future to make wet mud, by mixing some ground pastel chalks with a drop or two of water, and a drop of Future.  I use a ceramic palette, so I mix this in well on the palette, with a toothpick, and use the toothpick to apply it to the model.

I substitute either Alclad Aqua Gloss or Vallejo Gloss for Pledge

You can brush any gloss on to make wet mud

MM66, Future no longer goes by that name. Last I had heard awhile back it was something along the line of Johnson Floor Care with Future Shine or something similar.

Recon, It helps on your profile to show where you live. At least a general area. Seeing how stores are not in all countries and products change names in different parts of the world, it’s hard to say go to store ABC and look for brand Z, if those do not exist where you are. I dont know how many times I’ve seen folks here have suggested for non US members to go find a particular product at their local Hobby Lobby.
