I have heard and consequently use 20% paint and I am satisfied with the results.

For a wash, I thin to about the consistency of black coffee. Seems to be about right.

The best color is a darker shade of whatever the base color is. As to a thinning ratio, I have no idea. I've never paid any attention to it. Maybe 5 or 6 drops of paint in a paint bottle half filled with water. I just keep adding paint until it's dark enough. As long as it dries the shade that I want it doesn't matter.

I am about to undergo weathering my panel lines with water paint and was wondering what the best colour is and what ratio I should thin the paint to.
