Gun Barrel Gauges

Does anyone know what gauge of hypodermic tubing is needed to replicate machine guns on 1/48 aircraft? Thanks

This is a subject that has been hit on before. So I made myself a chart of inside diameter's for the various scales.
For 1/48:
.30 cal - ID - .00625 = 30 regular
.50 cal - ID - .01040 = 28 thin
These are the gauges per www.smallparts.com . The only reason for regular and thin is that that was the closest I could get to the size needed in that particular ID.
I hope this helps and Sign - Welcome [#welcome] to FSM. Good modelling.

Thanks Chopper. In a related note, does anyone happen to know if there is a website or some kind of link to a place where I can get conversions for any type of 1/48 gun barrels? I want to replace the crappy kit barrel on the Aurora Japanese Medium Tank I am currently building with a tube to make it more realistic. I cant find anything (so far) to help me convert other lengths into 1.48 scale. Thanks
